Our Founder

Mr. Girton has been a Wall Street professional for over 30 years and recently joined Blaylock Van as a Senior Vice President. Throughout his career, Girton has diversified his skillsets and actively co-managed several municipal transactions in various different credits. To date, he has participated in more than $10 billion of co-managed underwritings. In 2010, Girton founded the Liger Financial & Trustee Education Conference which brings together trustees, plan sponsors, and money managers from across the United States to share knowledge, network, and collaborate. He has also served on several elected and appointed corporate & civic boards and currently serves on the Washington Alliance Capital Board of Directors, Metro Elevator Board of Directors, and the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight. Girton was previously elected to the Indianapolis Public School Board of Commissioners. In addition, Girton has received numerous recognitions including the 2023 Indiana University Leadership Award, Indiana Black Expo Governor’s Award, the Black Enterprise Magazine, Ebony Magazine’s 50 Leaders of the Future, and the Indianapolis Business Journal 40 under 40, among others. Girton graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in economics.
